Below is a version of the help file for Challenge! Chess as it appears on the phones.

Controls

Use the Arrow Keys or the Numeric Keypad to move the cursor.

When it is your turn, select a piece by pressing OK. Press CLR/BACK to choose a different piece. Use the Arrow Keys or the Numeric Keypad to select the destination square. Press OK to move the piece.

To Castle, select the king and move it two squares in the direction you want to castle.

You cannot Castle if you have previously moved the king. You cannot castle with a rook that has previously moved.

Press the Left Soft Button to see the previous move.

Gameplay

Your side is always on the bottom of the screen.

The game clocks    show the total amount of time remaining for each side's moves.

If a player runs out of time, he or she loses the game.

Your Game Clock and the Cursor will turn green when it is your turn.

Finding a Game

There are two ways to find an opponent.

First, if you select Instant Match from the Main Menu. You will be matched up with someone near your skill level.

Second, if you select Challenge! from the Main Menu. You will see a list of other players also looking for a game.

Use the Arrow Keys to choose an Opponent. Press OK to challenge him or her to a game. You can press CLR/BACK to cancel your challenge. You cannot challenge someone who is already being challenged by someone else.

When someone challenges you, the invitation to play will show up on your screen.

Use the Soft Buttons to either Accept or Decline their challenge.

The following icons mean:
  Your self
  User has been challenged
  Instant Match
  Player is a bot
  Player cannot be challenged

Settings

Use the Up and Down keys to select the item you want to change.

Use the left, right, and OK keys to change it.

Pressing OK on your name will take you to another screen to edit it.
